HINTS ON FASHION.

[By A LADY.] As I have several very handsome toilettes and costumes before my notices tbia week, I cannot do better than give my readers the benclit of the fame. I will first mention some evening dresses, as the winter and, I presume, the ball and concert season, are now almost with us. Here, then, is a princess dress of pink striped silk cut square at the throat and high at the back, ornamented with a plaiting of silk. The skirt in front and sides is arranged into folds, and forms a deep train at the back. The edge of the skirt is ornamented with a deep embroidered band in the front, and two additional flounces at the back. The front of the robe is ornamented by a guilting of silk and white lace arranged on each side. There are also short aleeves with epaulettes. Another has a train skirt of silk, ornamented at the back with a plaited flounce. The front is covered with rows of deep fringe end a kilting down each side. Basque body of plain and striped silk mixed, cut V shape at the throat, and turned back with a deep roll collar. Elbow aleeves edged with a kilting and lace. Here is another ball dross of silk. Round skirt drawn up in three places across the front and fastened with bows of ribbon, and ornamented round the bottom J with a deep flounce and beading. The back is bunched, and has a cascado of silk and lace. High basque body cut square at the throat, and trimmed with a plastron composed of narrow plaitings of silk. Elbow sleeves. Lastly in evening costumes is one with a train skirt, composed in front of pink and black striped silk, plain at the back. The train is ornamented with a plaiting of Btriped Bilk. At the bottom in front it is cut out in V pieces, and filled iu with a narrow frilling which falls over another flounce. Tuuic of plain silk turned up and edged with striped silk at the back, a scarf end is arraiged falling over the train. Coat-tail body cut low and trimmed with a bertha. Short sleeves. For a visiting costume is one with a train skirt of figured silk, with side made of plain silk, the join at the back is ornamented with a cascade of silk, and which is continued round the train visito mantle of cloth ornamented with fur and passementerie. For a costume in mourning, suitable for a barathea and crape, princess ooßtume ornamented in front with a plastron of folded crape. Scarf of crape tied around tho skirt at tho termination of the plastron. Coat Bleeves with a deep crape cuff. _ For a short walking coat with velvet fichu. Tho skirt is ornamented with three kilted flounces in front, headed by a vandyked band. Tunic arranged in front with folds and edged with a deep fringe, draped at the back and trimmed with velvet.
