SALES BY AUCTION. March 13. Messrs. E. and A. Isaacs sold to-day the balance of the furniture, mirrors, pictures, &c., remaining on hand from the extensive auction liehl in the Albert Hall. All lines were sold without reserve with the exception of 3ome chimney glasses which they still hold for disposal. March IS. Mr. Buckland offered for sale this rnorbing several valuable estates in the provincial district of Auckland. There was only a moderate attendance of persons present, and the result was a very indifferent one. The Waitangi estate, consisting of 9355 acres, did not draw a bid. 135G acres at Paraheke, Pukekohe, was also withdraw. A small farm at Pauraure, consisting of 102 acres, drew forth a bid of £10 per acre, while the suburban farm at* One-Tree Hill, consisting of 30 acres rich volcanic soil, obtained a bid of £20 per acre, but the whole of the lots were withdrawn. March 20. The sale of English furniture, mirrors, lectures, &c., by Messrs. S. Cochrane and Son, yesterday, was well attended, but the large quantity of goods of this description offered within the last week or two tended to make bidding languid. The following prices were realised : Suites, from £20 to £3110s ; mirrors, £6 2s Gd to £10 15s; dining tables, £G los and £7 ss; dinner waggon, £5; table. £5 10s to £4 10s; commodes, £1; cheffonier whatnots, £4; whatnots, £2 15s to £1 Is ; occasional tables, £1 8s to £1 10s; inlaid tables, £2 10s ; work tables, £4 ss; coffee tables, 14a ; toilet glasses, Ss 3d to £1 0s Sd; oil paintings, £1 15s to £4 10s ; besides a number of water-colours, ficc., at fair prises. March 21. Mr. A. G. Grant offered to public auction, this morning, by order of tho Improvement Commissioners, a number of leasehold allotments situated in Wcllesley, Rutland, and Lorne-streets. The attendance of the public was limited, and only a small portion of those offered for sale were disposed of. Section G lot 7, £25 per annum, Wm. Crowther. Lot S, £20, Hollowav, Garlick, and Oranwell. Section 5, lots 11, 12, 13, and 14, £20 each, Education Board. Messrs. E. and A. Isaacs report as follows on their yesterday's sale of Melbourne-made clothing :—The attendance was large, but evinced great apathy in bidding. The amount of goods disposed of was over £2000, and from prices j realised the purchasers will get the greatest benefit. i March 27. Messrs. S. Cochrane and Son sold at their : mart, this day, several lota of country' and I suburban land. Lot 1, Whangarei, 20 acres, known as Kanika, £12 10s per acre; 279 acres, in the parish of "Waikare, County of Marsden, 3s per acre. Two allotments in Browu-street, Pousoaby, with two cottages thereon, £160. Messrs. B. Tonka held a land sale this morning, when 45 acres at Kaikohe, Bay of Islands, known as Opango, realised £195. Starch 28. Mr. L. W. Eaton held a largo sale of fruit ex Bella Mary, from Hobart Town, to-day, and, considering tho quality, very fair prices were realised. Plums, to ; pears, lid to 2d ; apples, l£d to 4±d ; oranges, 10a per case. Mr. R. Arthur's sales to-day were well attended. Poultry were brought forward in fair numbers ; all in good condition sold well. In consequence of the arrival of the Bella Mary from Hobart Town, with fruit, and the s.s. Hero from Sydney, the greater part of the day was taken up with the selling of fruit. The market was overstocked, but all of good quality sold we»l. The local-grown apples and pears are still coining to haud in good quautity, and the quality is fur superior to any of imported. The demand for produce continues good. Potatoes of large size and well bugged bring £5 to £G. Fowls sold at Is 3d to Is iOJ ; Dorkings, 3d 7d ; turkeys, Is 9d to 3s 3d ; ducks, 1* lu to Is 5«1; geese, 2s Id to 3s 5d \ small pigs, 4s to 4s 9d ; onions, h\ to ; potatoes, ba to i>s ; butter, 7d to lid ; cheese, tMto 8d ; bacon (sundry), -id to 7.{d ; bacon and hams (in cloth), by case, 7sd to S£d ; bacon (in cloth), by case, 7d to Sd ; Hour, £U 10s to £12 ; maize. 5s ; oats, 4s to 4s Gd ; bran, 9s Gd (sacks); wheat, 3s 9d to 4* 3d ; tea, A-chcst, 2s 2d ; box tea, 22s ; cocoa, Is 7d ; sugar, 4}d ; soap, lGs to 17s; rice, 3d ; salmon, Ss 3d to Ss 10d ; Scotch mixtures, lid. Auckland-grown apples, to 4d ; pears, Id to 3£d; quinces, Ad to 2Jd ; grapes, to 4|d. Sydney oranges, 7s 3d to Ss Gd ; plums, 2sd to 3d ; lemons, Ss Gd. Hobart Town apples, ribstones, 2nd to 4d; stone pippins, 2£d ; crabs, 2d to 2jd ; Port Derusiples, IJd to Ijipd ; Mob's codlings, l.}d to Hd. The whole of the fruit, being so long on the voyage, was in bad condition, —tho pears and plums were perished. The furniture department sale was well attended, and a large quantify changed hands at good prices.
