The p.s. * Mannwatu ' has just had her machinery thoroughly ovmhauled and her bottom painted, and is in excellent order. A tender lias been accepted by E. W. Mills for new cylinders for s.«*. ' stormbird,' which is cxpected to be completed before the day of s*le. The s.s. 'Jane Douclas* is only about three year 3 old. with comi-ound engines, is a very handy vessel, and very economical in ccal. The hulk ' European ' is built of hardwood, and will hold about 1200 tons of coal. A net profit of over £5000 sterling was made last year on the working account, as shewn by the balancesheet recently issued. The highest or any tender not necessarily accepted.
