i On Saturday, Sth February, a number of , gentlemen assembled at the Governor Bawen , Hotel, Grahamstown, for the purpose of 1 making a presentation to Mr. W. H. Har--1 greaves, of the Bank of New Zealand, prior , to his leaving the Thames district. Among t those preseut were Messrs. A. Urodie (County . Chairman, T. L. Murray, W. Carrick, E. r B. Cameron, M. Jlennelly, R. Comer, J. 1 \V. Walker, Thomas Spencer, Thomaa 3 Dunlop, Edivord Cnmeron, D. K. Gellion, 1 S. Turtle, J. L. Whitford, Captain B^st, b and others. Mr. Brodie was called to the - chair, and in making the presentation spoke g in very high terms of Mr. Hargreaves, both ' as a business man and a citizen. He ref gretted he was being moved from the - district, but believed he was receiving f a promotion which he richly deserved. As f a bank officer ho was most painstaking and attentive to the business, and always i treated the customers in a genial and gentles manly manner. He then presented Mr. y Hargreaves with a valuable gold ring and greenstone pendant, which he hoped would :1 continually remind Mr. Hargreaves of the u many friends he was leaving behind him. - Mr. Hargreaves feelingly replied, and expressed his regret at beiig removed frorc amongst them.
