The Assam arrived at the Heads this afternoon, where the Suez mails were transhipped to the Arawata for Zealand. The Cabinet has decided to postpone the issue of the Victorian Government Loan in London rather than accept low terms. The Australian colonies border duty question is now in a fair way of settlement. Nothing is yet settled regarding the Peninsula and Oriental Company's tender for the Victorian Suez mail service, pendiug receipts of advices from England. A grand military and naval review will be held in Melbourne at Easter. The Ringarooma takes the Suez mails on Wednesday next.
