CITY VALUATION FOR 1879-1880.

The valuation list of city property lies at the City Council office 3 for inspection. Objections may be made for any of the reasons as under, viz.:—la. That the person so assessed >g not the owner or occupier of the property rated. Ib. That the ratable value of the property is leas or more than stated, Ic. Any other reason for objecting. 2. That the objector's name is omitted therefrom, whereas he is an owner or occupier of cert ain property (to be stated), and is entitled to have his name inserted in the valuation list in respaot thereof. 3. B. lhat [State any inaccuracy in the list which the objector desires to be corrected]. The objector may insert in the objection any one or more of the objections numbered above. As the city burgess lists, under which all municipal elections are held, have to be compiled from the valuation lists, any errors in names in the latter will be continued and perpetuated in the burgess lists, unless corrected by the Assessment Court, pursuant to objections to be duly lodged, liatepayers will, therefore, see the importance of inspecting the valuation lists, ai.d lodging statutory objections in all cases »f errors in names, &c. After February 15 it will be too late to do so.
