ANOTHER BRIDGEPORT HORROR.
The people of Bridgeport were again aroused cvith a sensation of liorror, similar to what Lhey have accustomed themselves to experi:nce of late, by the circulation of a rumour ;liat Chief Marsh had found a detached mmaa baud in the vicinity of the old car■lage factory occupied for a time by Mrs. Alexander, the murderer of Wcinbeckor. A arge number of thoao who heard the story vere seized with a dtsire to see tho ghaßtly ibj'-ct, and an opportunity was given them. Pne hand was exposed in a good position for jeing inspected, on a table. Ladies who saw t would be much shocked by its pallid ippearance. Some of them, gathering back ;iieir skirls so as not to have to come too slose to the table, would stretch out a finger icd nervously touch the hand, and springing jack ward, txchum "Oh!" Others would jet in the same manner, and say " Oh, my !" itid still others would remark, "How awful!" Then they would shudder and retire to tell others all about it. The exhibition proceeded for a while, until the discovery was made that the hand was artificial—made of wax.—American I'ajw.
