ST. PAUL'S CHURCH.-PARISHION-ERS' MEETINGS.

ITiie annual meeting i f parishioners was held yesterday evening, for the purpose of *eo iviug the rep >rt of the Vestry and to elect * office-bearers for the ensuing year. The 1 Uev. C. M. .Nelson presided. The minutes of the previous annual meeting were rc -id and 5 confirmed. : IvßPokt, etc*. —The Secretary read the re- ' port and balance-sheet, from which wc take 1 the following particulars :—The total receipts, including balance from last year, ' amount to £1070 5' 3I; the expenditure to 1 £l<)3l Si ; leaving a b dance of £3S 17a 3d. I'll-; liabilities of th • church, consisting of a debt due to the Scanning Committee on account of galley loan, organ fund, aud 1 restoration and improvements, amount to 1 £119 Is 4d ; the assets to £124 14s 9d. The organ fund dent is reduced tc £40, the gallery loan debt to £75, and the Church debts have been reduced by £105. lhe \ estry decided to spend nothing apon ' the parsonage, at the same time that thev ' are of opiuion that the present parsonage does not provide the ucce-:sary accommodation for thf. eK-rgyman ; and they recommend to the new Vestry the consideration of ways and means for erecting a new and more suitable buildiu/. Applications had been made for the school buiidiug, but none had been accepted, .nd the exterior had not been painted, though recommended in the last annual repors. Mr. Martin Swallow was appointed org;«n st in March last, in the ; place o£ Mr. 15 ale, Mr. Swallow recommended the enlargement and re-con-struction of the pr- scut orgaD, rather than the purchase ot a low instrument. The cost of this enlargement aud reconstruction is estimated at £150, and the work had been entrusted to Mr. Hewlett, of Maogapai. The Vestry at tirdt pfoposed to place the organ, as altered, in tut e ist corner of the south transept, but they now recommend that it should be placed in the north transept, and for this purpose the existing gallery would have to be removed. Expenditure, £1031 Bs. ~ Mr. Kawiing inquired as to the position of the memorial account and the organ fund account.—The Chairman said that Mr. Aiitford had forwarded a memorandum to the effect that there was in the bank to the credit of the former account £35 lo's. As to the organ fund account, there stood to its credit in the bank £50 13s. There was due to the fund at the beginning of the year, £40 from the parish. Of that sum £20 had been received, so that the whole sum actually to the credit of the organ fund accouutw.s £92 13s. Brett and Cole were elected auditors. j Sunday-school, — Mr. Hughes moved a vote of thauks to the superintendent and teachers of the Sunday school, with a grant of a subsidy of £10.—Can i d. Choristers -A grant of £2 was voted for the best-beh i\*cd boy among the choristers. Ciioir.—Mr. S E. Hughes moved the thauks of the parishioners to the choir. — Cir/ied.—Mr. Wilcocks moved a special vote of thanks to the organist.—Carried. This concluded the business of the meeting.
