POLICE COURT.—Tuesday.

Harstow, Ksq., U.M.I Drunkenness.—Clement Owens was fined 20s and costs, for having been drunk and disorderly.—Thomas Bradshaw. who had been remanded suffering from delirium tremens, from which he had since recovered, now pleaded guilty to having been drunk, and was lined us and costs.—Another man was also punished for being drunk. Rowdy Seamex.—Robert Ainslee, John Owen, and Peter Johnson, three seamen, were charged with occasioning a breach of the peace in Queen-street. They all admitted the offence, and Mr. Pardy stated the circumstances of the street row between the captain and officers of the James Wishart, as already stated in the Herald. Ainslee said lie was not drunk, and he ran for a policeman, because his comrade was being kicked and knocked about by the captain. Peter Johnson said he did not wish to say anything at present, as he had a charge to prefer against the captain. Serjeant Fleming stated what ho had observed. Mr. Pardy said the second mate, Ainslee, was the cause of the whole disturbance. Fie rushed into the Thames Hotel, and struck Johnson, and his shipmates then rallied round him. Johnson's face presented traces of very violent usage, being cut and scarred, , and the eyes discoloured. Ainslee was fined £3 and costs, or (in default) a month's imprisonment, and the others were each fined 20s and costs, or (in default) seven days' imprisonment. Breaking Windows.—David Hamilton and Ephraim Davis were charged with maliciously breaking two panes of glass, worth 20s, in tho Edinburgh Castle Hotel. Hamilton admitted breaking tho window accidentally, and Davis denied having anything to do with ifc. Mr. Pardy said the hoys were scrambling, and broke the window, no doubt accidentally ; at least he did not mean to say that it was broken deliberately. Perhaps if his Worship gave them a good caution it would meet the case. The parents of the boys undertook to pay the damage, and tho accused were discharged.
