PARNELL BOROUGH COUNCIL.

A special meeting of the Council was held yesterday, for the purpose of installing the Mayor-Meet (\V. Coleman, Esq.). Present: Councillors Strange, Winks, Wood, McKenzie, Clarke, Cowtena and Odhun. Installation of Mayor.—The Mayoreleet (Mr. Coleman) then made the statutory declaration prescribed by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1876, and took the chair. He felt assured that ho would be assisted by the Council and the burgesses in carrying iuto effect whatever, during the term of his office, might be deemed requisite for the good of the Borough. He concluded by moving a vote of thanks to the ex-Mayor (Mr. Alelton) for his services to the Borough during the term of his office just expired.— lhe motion was duly seconded, and carried unanimiusly. Reports. —The Foreman of Roads and the banitary Inspector brought up their reports, which were received. They related wholly to matters of detail.
