Sedgwich Saunders, the Medi cal Officer of Health for the city of London, and hav obtained the following results Specific gravity of the Whisky, 0.804,51 Specific gravity of the distillate from ditto, 9.804,5 It in, therefore, a strong spirit, being 19.8 degree over proof, according to Sykes. It contains n sugar, and only a mere trace of fixed mattor, in th form of colouring matter ; it has tho flavour of gooi whisky, and is remarkably free from fusil oil. T.
