Waxi' ot space compels us to bo brief, but the match Epsom v. Remuera, played on Saturday, was very interesting. The futures of the game were the batting and bowling of 4V. Tonks and A. Mears, and the wrist play of Coleman was also good. Colbeck's break-backs were efficacious, but on the good hard wicket both teams wero worth more than they actually scored. Nolan, in the second inuing3, atoned for demerits in the first. Rumuera won on the first innings by 34 runs. A match of considerable interest was played on the Domain Cricket Grouaa, on Saturday, between the Parnell C.C. and Excelsior C.C., which resulted in an easy victory for the latter, Testro, Reece, and Mills batting splendidly for the winning team, as did also Ivens for Parnell. The Excelsior made 113 in the first innings, the Parnell G5 in the first innings and G3 in the second for the loss of 5 wickets. A closely-contested match was played on Saturday between the Ponsonby C.C. and the Waverley C. C., which resulted in a victory for the latter by G runs. The batting of Dattou and Whiting, and the bowling of Machattio and Moore for the Waverley were excellent. Carlion C.C. v. Uuion C.C.—This match was played on Saturday, in the Domain, aud resulted in a victory for Carlton on the first innings. The Carlton in the first innings made 32, and in the second inniugs 22 for the loss of five wickets. The Union in the first innings made 30 runs. The cricket match between the seamen in harbour and a team selected from the shore was, unfortuuately, postponed on Saturday, in consequence of several of the vessel-) having to change berths, which debarred one or two of th 6 nautical men from getting on shore. A match of considerable interest was played last Saturday in the Domain, between the Union and Excelsior C.C., result ing in an easy victory for the latter. The following are the scores :—Excelsior : First innings, 78, the highest scorers being Ripley, with 17, and Brace, 14. Union; First innings, 49 ; second innings, nine wickets for 44 runs, the highest in both innings being Cromwell, 24, aud Wright, 11.
