TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Allow me to correct a slight error in your local of to-day. The amount asked for was cnly a shilling ; but in some instances ten times that sum was given. Half-crowns were fraqueut, and the Auckland people proved themselves most willing to aid. 1 only met with two refusals. The origin of cliu movement is due to Captaiu Breton, tile manager of the school.—l am, &0., Ca*rles Jj". Goldsbro'. Parnell, Dec. 20, IS7S.
