REMOVAL OF A CORPSE TO NEW ZEALAND.
In this case an application was made befors the Consistory Court on the part of Mrs. Sophia Smith, the wife of Mr. James Smith, a barrister at Hew Zealand, for a faculty to remove the body of her daughter Annie from the catacombs at Kensal Greea to Duuedin, .New Zealand. Xhe case wa« mentioned on a former occasion. The young lady died ia London, in April, 1877, whils on a visit from New Zealand, aud was buried at Keus.l Green. She requested when dying that her remains should be conveyed to St. Barnabas Churoh yard, Warrington, New Zealand. When the application wa? made in November, tho father of the young lady was ou his voyage to New Zealand, aud it was urged that his views should be known before the application was entertained. The learned Chaucsilor, ia the result, allowed a postponement. Mr. Toller, as proctor for Mrs. Smith, said her husband had been communicated with, and a power of attorney had been given. There was no opposition to the application. Mr. Wills appeared for Mr. Roberts, and consented to the faculty being granted. The power of attorney was pro luced. Dr. Tristram, after alluding to the circumstances of the case, said the faculty would be granted for the removal of the remains of the young lady to New Zealand, and special directions were to be set forth in the ducumeut.
