THE WOOL SALES.

London, December 18.

X.HK wool sales have concluded. There Y-,v; a slight recovery in i)rices toward the close of the sales. The comparative decline was from 7 to 17 per cent., compared with September rates. The fall was strongest in Sydney and Cape fleece, cross-breds, and scoured. One hundred and sixty-four bales of Australian and New Zealand were catalogued. 35,000 bales wero withdrawn or unotfered, aud 55,000 bales were exported. 4,000 bales of the new clip sold favourably. Trade generally is seriously depressed. Iu the mining and. manufacturing districts much distress prevails through tliis cause.
