" The light of other days is faded," for the glories of science of the present age of marvels have eclipsed the barbarous usages of the past, and poor suffering humanity no longer remains the victim of gross maltreatment from unskilled and blundering quacks. The triumphs achieved in the world of physics have led to the production of those marvellous medicines knowrn as " GHOLL.vii'rt GuEAT Indian Cures," by whose instrumentality the moat astounding cures have been effected, and innumerable valuable Uvea saved. ■'Persons who adopt coke for fuel are scarcely ever known to revert tothe use of coal." The value *f coke as a fuel and as a means of economy of coal, is not appreciated sufficiently. A mixed fuel of coal and coke is invaluable for the ordinary purposes of heating, and still more for those of cooking and raising (team as it absorbs the smoke or inflammable gases given off by coal duting combustion, and renders the fire brighter, clearer, and hotter. Every householder should buy coal and coke at the same time, and, if convenient, mix them ; smaller bills and satisfaction will be the result. The price of coke u> advertised elsewhere, —[Advt.J
