BANKRUPTCY. RE WILLIAM JIKNKY RUOADIJENT, DRAPER AND STOREKEEPER, WANG AREI. A meeting of creditors was announced to be held yesterday ia the .Supreme Court Building, but at the time fixed (11 a.m.) only the bankrupt was present. JS T o creditors appeared. The liabilities wore set down at : £435 15s Gd, and the assets at £375. Mr. ■ Macffarlane, certificated accountant in bankruptcy, was appointed trustee. rOLICE COURT.—Monday. [ IJuforo R. C. Esq., R.M.I Injury to Property.—Same defendant was accused of having wilfully and maliciously broken two panes of glass, value 20s, at the Black Bull Hotel, Albert-street, tho property of Albert "Edward Glover. She admitted this charge also. Mr. Pardy said Mr. Glover refused to supply her with liquor, as she was under the influence of drink. She then went outside and attacked the house. Some time ago she was punished for passing spurious coin mi Mr. Glover, and that might have something to do with her present conduct. On the first charge she was sentenced to pay a fine of 20s and costs, or 4S hours' imprisonment and 5 days additional, and for the second offence she was ordered to pay 20s damages, 20s line, Is Gd costs, or to undergo one month's imprisonment. Larceny as a Bailee.— Edward Percy was charged with larceny as a bailee of the sum of £105 4s, the property of John McPherson. by fraudulently converting the same to his own use, on or about the 4th of October last. Mr. Pardy said that it would take some time to work up this case, and he would have to ask for a remand till Friday. The defendant was master of the cutter Lee, and had been intrusted by the prosecutor with a cargo of gum, which ho brought to Auckland and sold, retaining the money himself. Remanded to the 21st instant. Negligent Parent.—Matthew Carroll was charged with failing to pay 19s Gd due by him as contribution to the support of his child in St. Mary's Orphanage. Mr. Pardy said he had paid 9s on account, and asked for a further adjournment of a week, which was granted. Absconding Boys.—Palmer Wilson and Thomas Harvey, two lads belonging to the Naval Training School, were charged with absconding from that establishment. Mr. said he had not had time to communicate with Captain Breton since the lads u cre arrested, and asked for a remand till to-morrow, which was granted. Wife Desektion.— James Crowley was charged with deserting his wife and leaving her child ami herself without means of support. Mr. Pardy said the parlies had come to him and told him they had made up their differences and were anxious that tho case should drop. He therefore asked leave to withdraw the information. Application grautcd. Crown Land Fees.—Thomas Baker was charged with failing to pay certain Crown land fees for which he was liable. There was no appearancc of the defendant or of Major Green.
