PRIMITIVE METHODIST BAZAAR.
During yesterday the bazaar was rather better attended thau on the previous daj r , though, the amount of patronage obtained was h trdly commensurate witli expectations. There v. ere but few visitors from the time of opening till the shides of evening closed in, and the purchases were equally small. After nightfall, however, the inspiriting strains of music, discoursed i»y th" Templar fjand, had the effect of attracting the public, and business became brisker. Those who entered contrived to spend the hours very pleasantly ; for, in addition to the frequent selections of instrumental music reuiered by the band, a galvanic battery was kept at work, and created a fund of amusement for those prt-eeiit. There is one distinguishing characteristic about this bazaar which it is just as well to point out, aud which, when pointed out, will lift a load of apprehension from the minds of 3'oung men who are intending to pay it a visit. It is the absence of those misnomers the " lucky bays," by means of which and the pleading orbs of a young lady, many a susceptible young man has been wheedled out o£ his loose silver. There are also no sweepstakes, or, as they are more familiarly known, "swindles." so that the intending
visitor may go in the certain hope that he will not upon entering be beset with a crowd of eager UemuUelUts, ahxio us that he should —fill- Ilia own benefit, of course— secure tiie last chance in a sweep for s. large dull or cosey—or some other article of female workmanship. The sales are conducted 011 strictly legitimate principles, aud though the victory are iwporLuned to buy,, they are not so unduly. To-night there will be son.e itaiuri-s of attraction additional) to those already noted, aud it is confidently anticipated t'nat a successful linisb will bo tlie result, for this is the last day on wiich the bazaar remains open. The takings yet terday amounted to £"20.
