f P RESS AGENCY.] Wellington", Wednesday. The Presbyterian Assembly had a long dis enssion rc the Susteutation Fund. It was unanimously agreed to adopt the scheme and to bring it into operation on the lßt January, IS7!>. The Agent is to visit all congrega-
tions during next year, to assist ministers to instruct their congregations in the principles and working of the scheme, and prepare them for joining it. To-day the Assembly made arrangements to secure sites for churches in all new townships. The report of the Church extension showed much progress in extending the Church's operations. Many new points were taken up and occupied by young men preparing for the ministry. It was agreed to plaut men in some bush settlements to look after the spiritual needs of settlers. -The Agent gave a'report of a very .successful visit to different part* of the Church. His office promises beneficial results in extending and strengthening the Church's operations. A model trust deed was submitted, and ordered to be printed for consideration nf the Presbyteries. After some other business of minor importance, the Moderator delivered his closing address, and adjourned, to meet in Christchurch in March, 1879.
