The s.s. loaa, Captain Farquhar, sailed last night for Russell and Northern ports with passengers and cargo. The brig Syren will clew for Kniparu. tomorrow, and thenee will proceed with a cargo of timber for Sydney. • The brigantine Ethel is now loading at Oamaru, and thence will sail with grain for tho ManuVau. The eohooner Xorval sailed yesterday for Tonga and Samoa, with a i : ull cargo of general merchandise. The schooner "William and Julia sailed yesterday for Noumea, New Caledonia, with a quantity of provisions and merchandise. The three-masted schooner Argosy entered out at the Custom* yesterday for Newcastle (New South "Wales). The schooner Telegraph, Captain Doughty, Bailed last night for Gieljorno and East Coast ports with a general cargo. The time-tables of tho p.s. Effort for the "Wade and Puhoi, and that of the s.s. Rotomahana for the Thames, will, be found in our advertising columns. The barque Bella Jlary, Captain Fisher, cleared at the Customs yesterday, and will sail to-day for Hobart Town. She carries one passenger —Miss Green. The brig "Wave, from hence to the Thames, has completed loading with timber at tho Hauraki Sawmills, and sailed on Sunday morning for the South. The Union Company's s.s. Rotorua, from Napier and Southern ports, will arrive in harbour this evening hbout 9 o'clock. She is announced to sail for Sydney to-morrow morning, leaving the Railway Wharf at 11 o'clock. The New Zealand Shipping (3>. received a telegram yesterday, dated London, the 27tli, stating that the barque Loch Urr, Captain Murdoch, hence, had arrived, all well, previous to that date. The s.s. Southern Cross, Captain Holmos, arrived from Napier via the Thames early yeeter day. She left Napier at S o'clock on Friday morning, reaching the Thames at the same hour on Sunday, where she landed 300 sheep and 60 head of cattle. Gouk and Cardon, tho successful tenderers for repairs to the b.s. Go-Ahead, having declined to sign tho bond pledging themselves to fulfil the contract under certain penalties, the next lowest tender, £1650, that of Messrs. Fraser and Tinne, has been accepted, and the firm have signed tho necessary bond. The schooner Jessie, Captain Miller, to which a casual correspondent referred in our yester day's issue aa to the probability of being lost, is, we find on inquiry yesterday, safe according to recent intelligence, having sailed from Russell to Gisborne, at which latter port she was loading for Auckland on the 22nd inst. judging from a telegram received on that date by Messrs. Niccol, Hendry and Co. Mr. Geo. Oaborne (late of the firm of Messrs. Osborne Bros., Thames) the owner, informs us that the schooner left Gisborae for tfiis port a d,iy or two ago, and may, therefore, be expected at any
