GOLD MIXING MEETING.
RED QUEEN GOLD MINING CUMPANY. Tjir. annual meeting of tho Red Queen Gold Mining Company was to have been held yesterday, in Mr. Garland's office, but it lapsed for want of a quorum.—The directors' report pointed out that the mine had now been ivarked for three years without a call on the shareholders, operations being kept within the returns from tho mine. The recent discoveries in the Caledonian were likely to exercise considerable iiiiluonoc on the ' f.'d Queen, as surveys showed that that reel ran through tho company's ground at higher levels. Since the 30th of June, the period to which tho balance-sheet was made up, tho stone then on hand had been crushed, and the company now stood as follows : — Balance in hand, £115 us Gil; cutstanding liabilities, £10-1 11s 7d. The mine manager's report gave a very encouraging report of the prospects of tho company's property. The balance-sheet showed : Receipts—Balance on January, £352 17s 5d ; gold proceeds, £G3G Ms Gd ; forfeited shares sold, £109 ISs Gd ; other expenses, £175 I-Is 7d : total, £1275 os. Expenditure— Credit on January I, £70 12a Sd ; mine account, wages, £707 17s; rent, £13 7s 2d ; crushing, &c., £1-15 Ms Gd; survey, £'5 ss; winding, £51 7a 0d ; material, £126 Is ad ; drainage, £39. Expenses: Salary of manager, £26 ; charges, £7 16s 5d ; advertising, £2 Us ; balance in bank, £72 12s Id : total, £1275 ss. Profit and Ilbss Account— I Jr. : Balance from last statement, jEHGSI 13s ; expenditure as per mine account, £1086 12s 10d ; expenses, £30 7a oil : total, £GSO-t J. -Sa 3d. Cr. : By gold, £G:JG Ma Gd ; balance on sale of forfeited shares, £-12 19s Gd ; balance, £G124 19s 3d; total, £0804 13.s 3d.—.Examined and found correct, J. Kymons, Auditor. WAIOTAHI GOLD MINING COMPANY. The annual meeting of this company was held yesterday, at tho office of tho legal manager, — Mr. G. J. .Stone in tho chair. 'J'wo half yearly repo.-ia from the mino manager were read. Tho first \tas rather gloomy, but the second of the very opposite character. The mine has been opened at a lower lovc-1, good p lyable stone lias been found and everything looks promising for a speedy payment of dividend. The balance-sheet eho wed that during tho past year an overdraft had been paid vD) and additional machinery had been erected at a cost of upvvard.i of £700. The miDO has been well opened up, and them is a balance in hand of c>2l). The balance sheet, was adopted. Mcsern. Von del- llcyde and J. L Wilson were m-electcddirectors, and Mr. li. N. Garland auditor. This concluded the business of the meeting.
