COROMANDEL, Monday. _ The Union Beach manager reports a large parcel of specimens having been obtained during the past week from leading stopes in both eighty-foot and intermediate levels, ■and gold still in sight. The show on the plates in the battery is very good, and a large quantity of quartz is still in paddock. Two hundred and twenty-five pounds of specimens are on hand this morning. This sum the directors recommend should "be appropriated as follows:—To the payment of dividend at the rate of 2 per cent, per annum, £5000 ; to be carried forward to next half-year, £8428 18s Bd. Provision has been made in the accounts for £7856 14s 6d, unadjusted losses ; also, reinsurances in the marine department and all known liabilities at the date of closing the books, which have been duly carried to profit-and-loßs account. Owing to the heavy losses, the directors are unable to recommend any sum to be carried to the reserve fund at this balance.
