CITY WEST.
To the Editor of the Herald. Sin, The manner in which matters o£ importance to the City West community are disposed of by., the .Municipal authorities must impress every one as being peculiar. In making this observation I may testify to its truth by making special reference to three matters which have recently come prominently before the public. First, there wag the case of the long-contemplated and promised road across Freeman's Bay, connecting the important suburb o£ Ponsonby with the city by means of a proper approach. 16 being arranged by the Givic and Harbour Board authorities that this work should be proceeded with as soon as possible; a sum of £5000, or more, was raised for the specific purpose under the authority o£ an Act o£ the Legislature. Yet, strange to say, that as soon as our new Mayor took office, and Beresford-street church began to be in course of completion (a ciicumstance which is (Ifor continuation of news tee Supplement.)
