DUST IN SAINT PAUL'S CHURCH.

To the Editor of the Herau).

Sir,—ln your issue of the 22nd iustanfc, I noticed a paragraph, in which " Enquirer" wishes to know why the dust is allowed to accumulate on the seats of Saint Paul's Church. He says, "dust I leave, and unto dust Ido return each Sabbath." When he wrote that article, he did not take into consideration that for the last four o - five months dust has been flying around the church by cart-loads, which was caused by the bricklayers and carpenters who have been at wort there. Any man in his right mind would have seen this at a glance, and would not have acted like he did.. Then he goes on to say, " Like a good Christian, I go to church each Sabbath to say my prayers." Dear me, how "-wonderful! How many more go to church to say their prayers who are not Christians at all? If this is all that is required to make a Christian, I am afraid Christianity will soon fall to the ground. I£ "Enquirer"had entered his closet, audthere supplicated the Throne of Grace, he would, not have been so ready to find fault when he entered the house of. God. But.lie seems to belong to that class of grumblers who are pushing themselves into print, to make themselves look large. Mr. Editor, I am sorry I have had to take up so much of the space in your valuable paper. Had it not been for the. maintenance of right, I , should not have done so.—l am, &c,
