Dear Sir,—Among the many invalids that have visited the Waiwera Hot Springs, perhaps there is not one who has derived more benefit in so short a time as myself; and Ithißk it is a duty I owe to others who may be similarly situated to make my case known. When I went to the Springs I was suffering creat Dain -could not walk, but had to be earned, and when laid down on the sofa at Waiwera, suffered such excruciating pain, that I had to get brandy and water to keep me from fainting. My knee was swollen to twice its usual size. After fourtee °, ? a /ot . bathing and drinking the waters, I recoveredgot ' rid of the pain, and felt in every way as well as ever i I was in my life, which has continued; and, I /eel sure when better known, the Waiwera Rot *-pnngS will be hiebly appreciated, and great benefits will be derived fL sXch valuable medicinal springs. I j,._. refrained from giving a testimonial till now, l fearing the rapid euro could not be lasting, but it is BOW Six months since I was cured, and not the [ slightest symptoms of a return of the pain, In fact I never felt better. Yours faithfully, A. CLEMENTS. Waiwera, March 6,1870. I arrived at the Waiwera on the 20th of January, after four months suffering from Rheumatic Gout, and immediately after a fourth relapse on board the 'Mikado.' I was then unable to set my right foot on the ground, and suffering acute pain. Now, after more than six weeks' use of the baths, I am thankful to be able to walkabout a mile in the day, my general health is much improved, and, 1 hope, the foundation laid for permanent recovery. It would have been verygratifying to me to have been able to bear a more satisfactory testimony. I have seen others come on crutches, and go away alter a much shorter stay independent of them; and I can only occount for the obstinacy of my own caso by the severe intellectual and continual strain of many years of wasting labour _,with insufficient sleep. I have much pleasuro in bearing testimony to the excellence of the Hotel arrangements, and to the kindness shewn to me by the Proprietor, Robert Graham, Esq., and by the Manager, Mr. Boston, and hig excellent wife. The packing, and other processes to which I was subjected during the first week of my stay, by Mr. Edwin Turner, Hydropathic Practitioner, rendered me essential service, and 1 am persuaded that had He been present all the time to continuo those processes, I should have been completely restored.
