Ellen Oonlon, for & third ofloncc, was sentenced to seven days' imprisonment, with hard labour. The To^ n Clerk, Mr. Philips, was the only person wuo was authorised to grant them. Mr. Anderson, however, had told him (Mr. Broham) that he had only granted permission to allow the material to remain in the street for two hours, not a whole day. The Bench, in consideration of the extenuating circumstances which had been adduced in Court, only inflicted a moderate flue of os. and costs. This concluded the business.
