Township of Grahamstown, containing 93 acres, and being Allotment No. 214 of the Parish of Owhiwa, County of Marsden. This island, as its name denotes, is famous for its liraestons, and is most accessible, being in the fairway of all steamers and vessels passing to and from Whangarei. It is now in the occupation of Mr. l.dge. This property deserves the especial attention of saw-mill proprietors, timber merchants,-capi-talists, and others, as being the only available 'block of Kauri Forest Land to bo obtained in this district, and possessing a large frontage to tho Wairoa River.- The timber can easily be removed when desired. To facilitate inspection, the block has been subdivided into six large allotments, tho boundary lines have all been cut, and the Government road running from the Wairoa River to Hokiangahas been felled Ihs full width, and stumped and cleared to a width of 30 feet in the centre. Allotment No. 1 contains 3190 acrcs, has a frontflge of about 3J miles to the Wairoa River, i and commences about 13 miles from llangawhare, at which place vessels of 1200 tons are regularly laid alongside the bank of the river. From Mangawliare, the Wairoa River is navigabre for good-sized vessels to its junction with - i the Mang*kahi* "and Wairua, which isadistancc of about 50 miles by. water from Mangawhare. Some of the land within this lot i 3 exceedingly fertile • and well watered. Allotment No. 6, containing 3007 acres, includes within its boundaries a laTge proportion of good agricultural land, and a very large proportion of Kauri Timber. It also fronts the Wairoa River, and bounds the farm and viseyard of Mr. E. Roff. This lot possesses a frontage of about two miles to a Government Road, which runs from the Wairoa River to Hokianga, felled to the full width of one chain and stumped and cleared to a width of 30 feet in tho centre. Allotments Nos. S and 4, containing, respectively, 2414 and 2395 acres, have frontages to the Mangakahia River and to. the Government Road before mentioned. Both of these lots possess some of the best standing Kauri Timber in the Province, which can be got out at a comparatively small outlay. The Mangakahia. River is navigable for. a considerable distance; to the Northward of the iTaungaru Block. Allotment No. 5, 6459 acres, has a frontage to the main road between Wairoa and Hokianga. The land is of excellent quality, tiie forest is' open, and is comprised principally of soft woods. The whole is well watered.
