After hearing the evidence of Captain Taylor, master of the barque, and Commander Stanley, of H.M.C S. Victoria, the Court did not think it necessary to call tho second mate or any of the men: They would take time to consider their decision. They wero, however, justified in telling the captain that they did not attribute any censure to him or his officers, who had assisted him in his efforts to save the ship. As they might wish to leave town before the decision was given, it might be a satisfaction to them to know that the Court was rather inelined to bestow praise than blame upon their conduct under the trying circumstances in which the vessel was lost. The captain's certificate was therefore handed back to him. The broad pennant was at once hoisted at the fore, and at the same time the i)ido hauled down her broad pennant, and hoisted the, homeward-bound pennant at the main.
