HIGH FARES.

To the Editor of the Herald. Sir, —In answer to a letter which appears in your issue of the 25th instant, headed "High Fares," and signed "An Invalid," in which our names are mentioned, to consult the public interest in the above matter, permit us to state that we willingly comply with "Invalid's" request; possessing a knowledge of the beneficial effects of the Hot Springs and Waiwera, and the advantage which would be derived by the general public of Auckland to visit this celebrated health-restoring establishment at a time which would not interfere with the business pursuits of the week. We respectfully inform the public, in answer to their request, that we shall place our new boat, the Durham, on the Waiwera berth, at fares at 10s for return tickets, leaving the Queenstreet Wharf on Satuday, at 3 p.m., and returning on the following Monday at 9 a.m. We also wish to inform ticket-holders that the Durham is especially and exclusively fitted up aa a passenger boat, possessing every convenience for the comfort of its passengers, that in the event of the hotel at Waiwera not being able to furnish sufficient beds for the accommodation of the extra visitors, we will allow them the use of the cabins of the vessel for the above purpose without extra charge. —I am, &c., Holmes Brothers.
