A second meeting of creditors has been held -'n the estate of Daniel Page, providore. The estate is to be administered by the provisional trustee in bankruptcy. A first meeting has been held in the estate of J. Cafferey, and adjourned for a week. A gentleman whose eyesight was not good was recommended to try glasses. He says he went and took several at the nearest bar, and the result was his eyesight was so much improved that he could see-double. A little thing in Sunday school was asked by the teacher if she always said her prayers night and morning. U No, miss, I don't." " Why, Mary ! Are you not afraid to go to sleep in the dark without asking God to take care of you, and watch over you till morning ?" " No, miss, I ain't —'cause I sleep in the middle." Somnambulism. —A curious case of somnambulism was that of two young lovers at Michigan. Mary Ann's father was very much opposed to her receiving Henry's attentions ; but so intense was their affection, that although they resided upwards of a mile apart they would arise from their beds precisely at the same hour, carefully dress themselves, and wandering forth would meet each other at a small grove of artichokes and sunflowers, about half-way between their residences. The next day neither of them had the slightest recollection of what had occurred. One night the old man followed Mary Ann, and just as the unconscious lovers were about to rush into each other's arms, the governor jumped out and grabbed them by the hair. You ought to have seen them then —they both screamed, fell down, and wildly inquired where they were, and how they came to be there, and for pity's sake what they should do with themselves. It was a clear case of somnambulism and the old man allowed that if they were so spoony as all that came to—sleeping, as it were, in the public street —why, they"d better keep it up, that's all ; and he ordered them to get married within three days. It's a very singular thing, is somnambulism —very singular, indeed.
