Shackford, Esq., commander, arrived in harbour yesterday afternoon, from San Francisco, after a lengthy paflsagn, caused Ly the crunk breaking. She left San Francisco on .'-"overnber 10th at 10.35. a.m., and arrived at Honolulu on the ISth. at 11.30. p.m. Left Honolulu on the 19th, at 10.15 a.m. Passed Manano Island on the 30th, at 0 a.m. Un December 2nd passed a fullrigge:! ship, Larqun, and a schooner, all standing to the westward. Experienced flue weather and smooth sea to December 11th; thence to port strong ea»t and snoth-east winds, with thick, rainy weather. The engine crank broke drown on November 26, and w.is three days repairing it. On December 2, the crank brcke again, which detained hsr for six days, making a detention of nine days altogether. She came into port under one engine, one of the cylinders having given way. She will probably remain here for three days, and will then proco. don to Sydney. The Co imi iu a splendid vessel of 2900 tons burthen, and is classed Al at Lloyd's (English) for 21 y-.ars. She was built on the Delaware in 1573, by John Koach and Sons, for the Pacific Mail Companv, who have heretofore kept her running in the Golden Gate, China, and Panama trades. She has accommodation for 200 saloon and 250 The upper or maiu saloon is beautifully fitted up throughout. The cabins contain three berths each, which can be removed so as to make only one. The cabins open into each other, so that a family can occupy as many cabins as they choose, am! make them into one. The next deck is fitted up a3 a lower saloon and dining-room. On the same deck is the pft;try ana cook's galli-ys, mess-room for petty officers, aud a steerage for females. The hurricane deck is where the quarters cf the commander and officers are situated, with smoking-room and pilot-house as well. 'I he engines are on the compound principle, and are of 4500 horse power. They were made by Roach and Sons, the builders of the vessel, all the ironwork being supplied by the Philadelphia Iron Company. Shfic.rriis a complement of 92 men, all told. Altogether the Colima is abont one of the best fitted vessels that hss ever entered this port, and had it not been for the accident to her machinery, she would have made a smart passage. She carries 12 life-boats and a life-raft, which will hold about 150 persona. We aro indebted to Mr. ft. 3. Brigs, the purser, for his courtesy in supplying us with a report of the passage, later papers, and for obligingly shewing our reporter around the ship, and explaining the different fittings, &c.
