The usual Government monthly inspection jKirade of our local Volunteer companies took pi.ice last week, — No. 1 Company mustering in the Paddock Settlement, under C'aptaio B. Harris, on Saturday; and No. 3 Compary, under command of Captain J. Scott, in the Cape Settlement, on the previous d:iy. No. 2 Company mustered at Tuakau on Saturday. These companies have now all returned their rifles into store, and aro anxiously awaiting the issue of the long looked for Snyder. The companies, who acquitted themselves creditably in their drill, were inspected by Major Lusk.—[Correspondent.] * ______________
