For some considerable time past we have been encased io the manufacture of Proprietary Medicines and Specialities of various kinds to which wa have drawn public attention through the advertising columns of the various journals of the colony. The demand which has t sprung up for our medicaments, an I the flatter! n; encomiums wh chhave been pronounced upon their virtues, clearly testify that our mt-dioal preparations are more delicately manipulated and contain more subtle power than similar remedies imported either from Great Britain, France, or the United States of America. The marvellous success which has attended, this our infant enterprise has determined us on entering upon a Btill larger field of operations, and. to meet the demand which is likely to be made upon us, we have concluded arrangements for a regular supply of the raw material from the most famed laboratories of the world. The efficiency cf medicines, next to the purity of the drugs, depend upon the skill with which they are com* pounded, the perfect co-blendiog of the various minute particles with a harmonious whole require experience and knowledge to accomplish. "We are proud to rank our establishment amongst the local industries for which the' public men of the colony have been agitating for several years past, and we confidently appeal to oar fellow-colonists for support, we on our part guaranteeing the quality of our preparations to be superior to the imported ones they happy in the knowledge that skill and care are being devoted to the relief of the " thousand ills that flesh is heir to."
