Mb. Alfred Bcckland's Wkkkly Report.— At Papakura, on Wednesday, cattle weie in less than usual numbers, only 130 bead being penned. Bidding was brisk throughout the sale, and an advance on lata values given. At Hemuera, on Thursday. dairy cows were plentiful, and more free of sal ft than last week. Store cattle scarcely represented. Fat cattle wero of good qua'ity and in full supply: 140 head were sold, prices advanced slightly; best quality brought 40s per 100 lbs. The longwoolSed ewe«, lambs at brought 10s Gd and 22s each. Fat sheep in usual numbers; 750 penned; prices steady at4d per lb. Pigs scarce and at extreme values. Hunter and Nolan's Weikly Report. — Horses; The supply is short of requirements; a limited number were entered for disposal by auction on Friday last, and were nearly all placed at fully last week's priccs. We quote backs from £5 5s to £12; light harness horses, from £12 7s 6d to £15; medium draught, £25. Cattle: There has been a good deal of vitality displayed in the market, particularly as regards stores; the number submitted has been above the average and the demand active. A limited number of daily cows offered. Prices having declined a little, holders are unwilling to submit to the reduction. There wat but a limited number of fat beasts offered at Newmarket on Tuesday, but there was a brisk denarnd and prices had an upward tendency. We quote: Dairy cows, £0 to £S 17s Gd; 2 and 3-vear old steers, £3 15s to £6 ss; yearlings, £2 10s; weaned caletss. £1 6s to £1 10s each; beef, 35s to 40s per 100-lbs. Sheep, suitable for slaughter, were in moderate supply, but stores were scarce and there is an unsatisfied enquiry. The competition for fat sheep was spirited throughout, best wethers sold from 24s to 27s Gd; sccond quality, 18s to 21s. Pigs: There was a large number yarded, which met with the most spirited competition, and 4d per lb for live weight for good porkers waa given.
