NEW ZEALAND LOAN AND MERCANTILE AGENCY CO. (LIMITED).

The annual local meeting of the shareholders of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited), was held yesterday iu the company's office, Auckland, —Dr. J. L. Campbell in the chair.—The managing director read the advertisement convening the meeting, and the minutes of the last annual meeting were read and conlirmed.—The tenth annual report issued in London ou the 4th February last, and since circulated among shareholders in the colony, was taken as read. —The Chairman remarked that in consequence of the development of the company's business, it had been found necessary since last meeting to call up 30s per share on the second issue, making all the shares now uniform ; that the progress of business during the past year had been quite satisfactory, and the prospects for the future were most encouraging. lie then announced to the meeting that the retiring director was the Hon. James Williamson, who, being eligible, offered himself for re-election.—lt was proposed by Mr. Browning, seconded by Mr. \V. C. Wilson, and unanimously resolved, that Mr. Williamson be re-elected a director.—Mr. Comiskey proposed, and Mr. W. H. Kissling seconded, that Mr. Browuing be re-elected colonial auditor for the coming year. Carried.—A vote of thanks to the chairman brought the proceedings to a close.
