A WKKi'ixo of the BoarfV of Education was held in the Board-room, Wyndham-street, yesterilay afternoon, when the following gentleman were present:—Dr. Campbell (in the chair), and Messrs. Prime, May, Lusk, Ball, Luckie, Reader Wood, and Colonel Haultaiu. Mixjtrs.—The minutes of tho previous meeting were read ami confirmed. SrricKME-couRT Sitk.—A letter, dated 2Sth of June, was read from his Honor the Superintendent, accompanying proposed plan for the division of K roun d and arraugcment of buildings in dealing with the Supreme Court site reserve under the Supreme Court Site Leasing Act, 1575. A lengthy discussion took place in reference to the plan. It was considered that back streets or at least back entrances should be made to each of the several allotments, and these -were not provided in tho plan submitted to them. It was also considered that the proposed lease for 99 years was far too lengthy a period, and that a term of 50 years would bo sufficiently long.— Mr. Reader Wood explained the views of the Government in the matter, and their anxiety to push the thing on as rapidly as possible in the interest of the Schools and Hospital liuilding fund. He said that until it was known what amount the leases wore likely to produce, it would be dilficult to say what amount was likely to be obtained upon their Rccurity, and consequently, what sum the Board would havo at its disposal for school buildings. It was with this view that the Government had endeavoured to hasten on tho matter, and had had plnns prepared. He was also anxious to sec it concluded before he left for Wellington, which hewouldveryshortly have to do.— Tho matter w.s subsequently referred to a committee, cov isting of Dr. Campbell and Messrs. Lusk, • .uckio. Prime, and It. Wood, to report to the Board on Thursday next. Mount Koskilu —An application to proclaim Mount Koskill a school district under the Act was received. It was resolved to proclaim it a school district in accordance frith tho application.
