A meeting of settlers was held at the Drillslied at Outram last night, for the purpose of considering the best steps to be taken for having a branch line of railway made to connect Outram with Dunedin and Ualelutha on the main line. A deputation was appointed to wait upon the Executive on Tuesday next, urging the necessity of making a branch railway out of the i'ooo,ooo granted by the Assembly.
