[Before G. 11. C'lieoseman, C J. Taylor, Allen O'Neill, and Major I'isiLvll, K"qs., Justices.] Drunkenness.—Two persoue. were punished for the above offence. Assault. —John Graydon was charged with having assaulted Sergeant O'Connor, when on duty, by striking Tiim on the head with liis cienclied fist on she 27th inst. The prisoner pleaded guilty to the charge, and also to having maliciously torn the uniform trousers of Sergeant O'Connor, value 30s. Mr. Williams gave the prisoner a good character, and the Bench fined the defendant 40s. and costs, and- ordered him to pay the amount of damage claimed. Vagrancy.—Jas.. McDonald, for a brcach of the above Act* was sentenced to one month's imprisonment with hard labour.
