' Having been told that my p.ction in the matter of the petition which resulted in the unseating of Mr. Von der Heyde, is disapproved of by some of your number, I take this opportunity of assuring you that ! I believed it was my duty to follow the course of proceeding which I did, even if only in consideration for those electors >vho had exerted themselves on my behalf; and although I consider that personation I and such like disreputable practices are too fre- | quently resorted to at elections, and are most repre- I hensible, I hold it to be perfectly correct to use all fair and legitimate means to defeat an opponent. Greenwood, at the Market, at whose Ullice all Entries must be made before 4 p m., 2nd September. All persons having Fancy Stock, such as Poultry, Pigeons, Parrots, Cockatoos, or other Fancy Birds ; Dogs, Cats (he or she), Rabbits, Guinea-pigs, &c., Ac., are reminded that the Exhibition takes place next FRIDAY, and SATURDAY, 4tk and sth September, and that all Entries for the same ought to be mado as early as possible, at the Ollice of R. C. Greenwood, Market-house, where any further particulars can be obtained. Special Prizes will be given, where thought deserving, for Parrots, Rabbits, Cats, &c. Noiick.—By order of the Committee, Rule No. 3of the printed Regulations is altered, to allow one Male and one Female Bird to be Exhibited in each Pen of Poultry.
