POLICE COURT.—Saturday.

[Before Thomas Beckham, Esq., R.M.J Drunkenness. —Two persons were punished for this offcuce, and one was discharged. Vaurancy.—Catherine Maxwell was charged with having no lawful or visible means of support. The prisoner pleaded not guilty, and the case was remanded until Menday. Neglected Children's Act.—John Donovan and Joseph Dansey were charged with absconding from the Industrial School on the 2Sth inst. The boys pleaded guilty, and were ordered to be privately whipped and returned to the school. Licensing Act. — David Dunningham, licencee of the Governor Browne Hotel, was charged with supplying alcoholic liquors to Annie Law during prohibited hours, between 12 o'clock midnight aud S a.m. on the 25tli inst. Mr. Armstrong appeared for the defendant, and pleaded guilty, under extenuating circumstances. Inspector Broham spoke favourably of the general character of the house, and the defendant was fined 40s and costs. City By-laws.—Wm. Bromley, for allowing the chimney of the house occupied by him to take fire, was fined 20s and costs.
