On Wednesday last, Mr. Hamilton left Ihe Whau, on horseback, to conduct divine service at the Manukau Heads, one of the posts in his widely scattered district. He was expected to return in time for the services at the Whau, on Sunday last. The case ffas reported to tbe police, and a mounted •onstable was despatched to make search for tie missing gentleman. A constable was also ent down to the Manukau with orders to earch the creeks. A message was received rom the Manukau Heads on Monday evening ° i j efiect that Mr. Hamilton had not cached that place, which makes his disappearoce more mysterious.
