THE SUPERINTENDENCE
To the Editor of the Herakd. Sib, —May I be permitted, upon the part of myself and the working men of Auckland, to ask our old friend John Williamson, Esq., candidate for the Suporiuiendency, whether, in the event of being elected as Superintendent, he will pledge himsolf to get the bankruptcy laws amended ? If so, lam prepared to give him not only my vote, but all the power and influence I can to get him elected. The general opinion of the working classes is, that unless those laws are amended and a little more protection given to honest, enterprising men, that men of sense and enterprise will never speculate to any extent, and local industries will never be carried out unless a:i alteration takes place in ihe adminisl ration of the laws relating to creditor and debtor. —I am, &c., W. W.
