A dividend of 5s per share has been declared. The Jloanatairi hare lodged 57S ozs. of gold, with about 30 ozs. more to come. The specimens from Xo. 3 were very sliowv, but turned out very unsatisfactorily. The Queen of Beauty lodged 241] ozs. retorted gold, for eleven days' crushing with eleven stampers. The VTuiotahi tribute crushed fifty tons for 41 ozs. l(i dwts. retorted gold. Golden Crown Company, S5 tons for 12G ozs. 10 dwts. retorted. Tribute, 100 tons for 153 ozs. retorted. Kuranui, 350 tons for 250 ozs. retorted. Ihe Alburnia have 468 ounces of amalgam for the fortnight, -with a little more to come. It should retort a little over 150 ounces of gold. The City of London have over 300 ounces of hard amalgam for the week, against 450 ounces for the last fortnight. The Long Drive tribute are still crushing well. Eighty ounces of amalgam was obtained yesterday for eight hours' run with five heads. The Black Angel directors have re-instated Mr. Daykin as manager of the mine. This meets with approbation. John Bruce, who is livmg with a woman of questionable character, named Alice Mills, went to bed last night in a state of intoxication, and awoke this morning covered with blood, and a ghastly wound on his head, evidently inflicted with a billhook. He was lying on the floor of the room, which was covered with blood, and it seemed as if a struggle had taken place. Bruce managed to reach the Albion Hotel, when he fainted. He was taken to the hospital, and professes to know nothiug of the occurrence. The woman has been arrested on suspicion. A great church parade took place to-day. Ihe Volunteers, together with the Auckland marched to St. G-eorge's, when the ilev. Y. Lush delivered an appropriate sermon.
