MINING MEETINGS.
Bank of Tokatea G.M. Co.—The ordinary general meeting of the above company was advertised to take place yesterday, at, the Insurance Buildings, at. noon. At the appointed hour a quorum of shareholders of the requisite number and value failed to put in an appearance. After waiting some time, Dr. Lee tiok the chair, and declared the meeting open for the transaction of business.—Mr. Friend, one of the directors, said tli.it. the accounts had not been made up and uiulilcd, us directed, therefore no business could be transacted, even if a quorum were obtained. He commented with some severity on the conduct of the legal manager and the confused state of the bookß, which, howover, he believed was more attributable to incapacity than actual impropriety of conduct. Ho moved the following resolution, which was seconded by Mr. J. Bent, and carried : —That this meeting do now adjourn until this day week, to cnab'e the legal manager to prepare a correct balance-sheet, and have the accounts dulv audited." —The legal manager (Mr. S. M. Baker), in explanation, said that ho was under the impression he would only have to furnish a statement for the period of his own term of office, instead of which it would be necessary to go b.ick through the accounts of two or three managers who preceded him. Mr. Percival and himself hud been endeavouring to unravel these accounts, but it would take some days to do so. Crown Pbij-'CE G.M. Co.—The annua! meeting of the shareholders in the Crown Prince G.M.Co. wan held at the Queensfcrry Hotel, yesterday afternoon, —Mr. D. Graham in the choir. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed.—The Chairman then read the report and balance-sheet. The receipt:) from calls during the Inilf-yeur amounted to £1L10; sale of gild, £23 i3a ; miscellaneous, £19 6s. The disbursements were: Payments for contracts, &c, £*20 5a 3d; other payments, £335 10s 5d ; leaving a balance of £21. The number of shares forfeited, after paying Mr. Graham 1000 us resolved upon at the last meeting, will be 2809.—The report and balance-sheet were adopted.—The retiring directors were all reelected with one exception. It was resolved to present tho secretary with the sum of £10, for the trouble he had been put to in bringing tho accounts into their present perfect state. Scottt's Hixl G.M. Co.—A special meeting of the shareholders in the Scotly's Hill G.M. Co. was held at Mr. Wallace's office. Insurance Buildings, yesterday morning, — Mr. .T. Phillipps occupied the chair. After some discussion it was resolved to let the mine on tribute ; and after some matters of lesser importance had been discussed, the meeting separated.
