I Th« Government, having been empowered by special , Acts of the Legislature to enter into contracts for | Insurances on lives, aud for tiie grants of Annuities and Endowments, are now prepared to execute any of the usual contracts dependeut upon the contingencies of human life. The following advantages are presented as deserving of public attention, and especially of the Working Classes:— 1. All transactions, and powers of attorney and other , documents, are free of Stamp Dut v and all taxation. 2. No charge is made beyond tlie purchase money or premium, which may be paid half-yearly or quarterly. 3. Should the assured die during the days of grace, the policy will still be valid. 4. Surrender values are granted on the whole or any part of a contract which has endured for five years. 5. The tables of Premiums in all tho branches are considerably less than in any other otiice in New Zealand. 6. Residence is permitted in any part of the Australasian Colonies and Europe, and premiums may be paid on tlie due dates at the nearest Money Order Oilice. 7. Insurances effected for the benefit of and settled on Wife and Children are free, to the extent of £?■ 000, from the claims of Creditors. S. The Norwich Union Life Society has no distinct body of proprietors; the insurers at large are tV- recipients of the savings of the institution : the premiums paid, being in fact only deposits, revert to those who contribute them. SETTLEMENT POLICIES. To meet one of the greatest wants of the day, tlie Norwich Union issues Policies in the nature of settlements, whereby a man in solvent circumstances, provided the matter is bona fide, may secure, without the risk of uanicuui'TCY, a certain and direct provision for his family. RESOURCES. Irrespective of the immense annual revenue of this Society, gradually and surely on the increase, it possesses a Reserve Fund of .£'2,300,000 and upwards, available for its requirements. RATES OF PREMIUM Are framed as low as are consistent with the due safety of the Society, and its Actuary is calculated to be one of the most competent authorities in England, the Court of Chancer}' having recently had to avail themselves of his experience in tkess matters; and although apparently higher than some ollices, assurers should not lose sight of the fact that they receive it back, either in bonuses or in addition to sums assured, and in electing to insure in this Society, they also avail themselves of the experience and safety of a concern that time has proved to be secure against all chances. LOANS. Surrender values are given for Policies cf 3 years standing, or loans granted on security of same. FOREIGN TRAVEL Permitted to all parts of the globe in properly decked vessels, and in tim« of peace. PARTICIPATION OF PROFITS.
