Bignold, Esq., (Secretary) (Assistant Secretary) Head Offices {SS^fSSe, The undersigned leaving been appointed Agent at Auckland, and Inspector of Agencies for the Colony of New Zealand for the above Societies, would direct attention to the peculiar advantages attendant upon insuring in these institutions. In LIFE business absolute security, liberal bonuses, and participation of profits without liability to the assured. Proposals received and PoUcies issued in Auckland without inconvenience to proposers of having to wait until reference is made to Europe or A ustralia. In FIRE business moderate piemiums, based on an equitable system of assessment, prompt settlement of claims. (For this purpose funds have been remitted to the Bank of New South Wales, at Auckland, and losses will be paid in the colony in cash.) This office is especially distinguished for its liberality and promptitude in settling claims ; it has paid to insurers £2,608,155 for Fire alone, and the Life Society has paid £7,960,000. The receipts of the branch are to be invested in the colony, thus securing to the assurers the advantages of a local institution with the additional guarantee of a large and wealthy English proprietary. The Norwich Union ranks amongst the oldest and most respectable offices in England, and to those who look for security in their transactions, as all should do in a matter of such importance as insurance, it offers every advantage, and in proof of the public con fidence in the principles and character of these establishments it will suffice to say that the business in the United Kingdom now exceeds (£90,500,000) ninety millions and a-lialf sterling. Prospectuses and full particulars on application to GEO. S. GRAHAM, Crescent Chambers, Shortland-street. EW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT LIFE INSURANCE AND ANNUI TIES. The Government, having been empowered by special Acta of the Legislature to enter into contracts for Insurances on lives, and for the grants of Annuities and Endowments, are now prepared to execute any of the usual contracts dependent upon the contingencies of human life. The following advantages are presented as deserving of public attention, and especially of the Working Classes:— 1. All transactions, a.nd powers of attorney and other documents, are free of Stamp Duty and all taxation. 2. No charge is made beyond the purchase money or premium, which may be paid half-yearly or quarterly. 3. Should the assured die during the days of grace, the policy will still be valid. 4. Surrender values are granted on the whol or any part of a contract which has endured for five years. 6. The tables of Premiums in all the branches are conside. ably less than in any other office in New Zealand. 6. Residence is permitted in any part of the Australasian Colonies and Europe, and premiums may be paid on the due dates at the nearest Money Order Office. 7. Insurances effected for the benefit of and settled on Wife and Children are free, to the extent of £2,000, from the claims of Creditors. 5. The Consolidated Revenue of the Colony is liable for all claims, in the event of the leceipts, which are duly invested at compound interest, at any time being insufficient to meet demands, thus affording the best security to the Assured. The fullest information can be obtained on application at any Money Order Office, or to the Chief Postmaster, Auckland. W. GISBORNE, Commissioner.
