'1 Im is fully continued from wlmt I have seen myself, and by the remarks passed by some of the best men on the field, who have been nr. derground with mo. The quantity of specimens now in hand is over three tons, and will be considerably increased before the day .s out j this will necessitate the crushing of them early nexl week.
North I)i:von.— The tributers of this mine have luid a -rushing of GO tons ot Weston's mnchinc, and the result is below the expectations formed; not more than 55 oa*. of gold were obtained. This yield will pay the tnbuters well, as the reef is very large; and now that, the ground is fairly opened at the low level, I expect that the crushing* will be miu.h more frequent than heretofore.
Tookky.—Wool and party, tributers on the upper portion of the lielfast leader, and also on a part of the celebrated erors-leadcr, have nad a eni-diing of fit:y t his at the Manukau mnehine ; and, although i!h> result is much below that of the last, which was expected, on a-count, of *') very little of the cross-lender being crushed, yet the yield is u handsome ones, highly proflta'd" to the tributers and the company. The fifty tons yi.-l.ted 11'.' o/s. X d-.vts. incited gold, lodged with the Hank of Australasia. Ckntiiw It v ! v.—There i< ;i report current •i town that, this company have at length cut the .Nonpareil lode in their shaft, and t.iiut gold has been seen. As I have only just r.-eeivid the above from the legal manager's 'dire, I am not, in a position to give any further details, but. will do so by wire if necessary. Mo a N'AT.vntr. —"Ibis eo .■npany still employ six heads of the Tramway machine, besides the whole of their own plant, and yet the Tramway mill paddocks are oversowing with quartz, which will necessitate the employment of a few more additional stampers, and that, very speedily. At this muchi/ie the show is not very good, but [ remember that it was the h line during the first day or two of the last f rtinght; and no doubt stone will bo going t here short ly that will pull it up considerably. At the company's butterv, as far as can be ascertained, the show is about the averuge, but the last day or two several small patches of specimens have been obtained, which indicates that there are more at hand. A very strong ctl'irt. is now being made to rcducethe debt t hat i ia»so heavily burdened the company for years ; and a few more yields like the last will have the desired effect.
