We understand that the electors of .Ytongonui have sent a requisition to his Honor the Superintendent asking that gentleman to come fornard as their representative in the General Assembly in t:ie place of Mr. Pall, who has resigned in consequence of his intended visit to l.ngland. Mr. Gillies, wo understand, has accepted the invitation of the electors, ami after hi< visit to the H-iy of Islands—for which place lie U fi. iu the C&ruerang on .\londav —wiil proceed direct to iiongontli. \\ e see by the advertisement issued by the JJeturaing Officer, W. H. White, J'.sq., that the nomination will take place on "Wednesday, the 23rd inst., and the poll, if necessary, on the 30th inst. There is, however, not the slightest probability that any opposition will be offered to the election of Sir. Gillies.
