LATEST FROM THE THAMES.

(I''UOM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) Tuesday evening. Moanatairi Company.—Some excellent specimens from the above company's ground were taken out of tlxe new leader to-day. The Eureka continues to take out good stuff. I have to report another good find in the Inverness, some few days ago. Some of the specimens are of a very line character, and should attract a very large amount of public admiration, in addition to enhancing the value of the shareholders' interests. Comparatively speaking, the Inverness has been thought very little of, but we feel sure that with the large amount of stone obtained from the claim, at little trouble, and to the workmanlike manner in which operations have been carried on, that it will attain to one of the best positions on the field ere long. No less than 200 tons are now stacked, and we are given to understand that a crushing is shortly contemplated, as soon as the shoot to convey the quartz to the battery is finished. In the Bachelors' Company the directors have thought proper to stop all the workings on the ground, pending the liquidation of certain calls now considerably over due. It is a pity to see this ground lying idle for want of the payment of some few calls, but the directors can hardly be blamed for adopting any course to enforce payment of what is now the most difficult thing to obtain on the goldfield. I have also to relate that a rich, though:, small leader was discovered on Satuqjtay last, but owing to the men having'stop'ped work, we cannot say what it Let us, however, trust that the erring shareholders will hasten to pay up, and allow operations in this promising company to be resumed as soon as possible.
