Natitb .Reception.—His Boyal Highnesss paid a marked compliment to the Wanganninatives yesterday. Keturn tickets at single fare, hy the hoyal Alfred to all who bold tickets for the tea, available on the day previous, and good for the day after the tea meeting. Ik connection with the visit of his T?oyal Highness to the Mangere District, of which we gave a report in yesterday's issue; wo have been furnished with the following particulars in addition to those already published.—His lioynl Highness was accompanied by 11 is iixcellency the governor, Major Hamley, Lieut, llaig, 1t.1£., Smith, A.D.C., and Mr. Chevalier. Major Gordon was Chairman of the committee appointed to escort the party through the district; and the gentlemen, composing tlio I committee, Messrs. Gordon, Yercoe, Buckland, ' Hall and Jiobertson, and Messrs Hunciman and "Robert Hobe'rtson, also representing the district, had the honor of lunching with His Koyal Highness! The peach wine we referred to was the produce of the locality over which they were shooting, and we are informed was intendeu "to be drunk on the premises." We have already observed that the Prince highly commended the wine, and in all other respects appeared exceedingly gratified with the reception accorded him, the sports and the whole day's proceedings. We observe that Mr. Crowther is a patron of local industry, in preference to importing a foreign article. Mr. Wiseman has just completed to his order two sets of four-horse harness, which are now being , used for the Duke's "turn out." The harness is very handsome, and does credit to the province, and is a convincing proof that we need not go abroad to better ourselves inthis respeot.

Mr. Hall received a letter from Lieutenant Haieh yesterday morning with the command, nnd the comedy of "Masks and Faces," and the burlesque of '* Faust," were at once selected as the pieces for performance. We are glad to see that Messrs. Hall and Varley are meeting 1 with such encouragement, since we feel sure that it is thoroughly deserved. Lieut. Haigh. K.K., lias withdrawn his name from tho list of stewards at the forthcoming races. His promise to. act was only conditional, and he finds himself unable to fulfil the conditions attaching to his acceptance of office.
